A prayer For The People
We honor the four directions,
the Sun and the Moon,
the masculine and feminine
We honor the darkness
and we honor the light that
shines in all creation
We honor the past,
the place where we come from;
that which has brought us here
to the present
... and we give thanks for
the learning we have received
We honor the future,
for we know that everything
is given to us by the creator
... and we give thanks for
the learning that is yet to come
Divine Mother, Heavenly Father,
we thank you for the gift of this life
Ancestors, saints and sages
of all religions ... we bow to you all
Help us find the strength
to follow in your footsteps
and walk the wisdom way
Give us the eyes to see,
the ears to listen, and the
courage to speak our truth ...
And grant us the grace,
the skill and the patience
to honor the truth in others
Help us to remember
who we are, why we are here
and what our lives are meant for
That each human being carries
a part of your sacred dream
That love is not only a feeling,
it is a discipline
It is a choice that we make
each and every moment of
each and every precious day
May we choose love for ourselves
May we choose love for our families
May we choose love for our enemies
May we choose love for the highest and
best good of all living things everywhere
May our hearts and minds be always open
And may we be blessed, so that
we might become a blessing unto others
May the power of these prayers
shake the earth to her foundations,
awakening the people, giving birth
to a kinder, more compassionate nation
